Week beginning 11th September, 2017
Year 5 have well and truly settled into our new classroom and new routines! This week we have started our Literacy topic based on World War II and Michael Morpurgo's novel 'Friend or Foe'. In maths we have been developing our understanding of the value of numbers with up to 7 digits and demonstrating our understanding of the value of each digit.
We have also also completed beautiful pieces of art work in our art topic 'Plants and Flowers'. We were inspired by the talented French artist Henri Rousseau and his use of colour. Our work is being showcased in class and in the parent's room.
We have also also begun our RE topic 'Ourselves' and have been thinking about the special talents and qualities that we have. We then carefully considered how we can use our talents and qualities to behave well towards others.
We ended our week with a junior chef session and not only did we make a delicious snack to take home but we also learnt many interesting facts about the healthy ingredients that we used!
